hi guys! have you ever been called "DEAF PERSON". well, i admit. yes. that usually happen when people are calling me and i do not give any responses. "sorry, i didn't hear yoouuuuuu" sorreehhh.so, this question come across my mind, how i can become deaf in certain situation though i don't have deafness diseases? researchingg progressing. ^.~
it isn't just loud noises that can cause one deafness. various other reasons for hearing loss include:
1.age
this is because structures in the ear become less elastic as people get older. the little tiny hairs get damaged and are less able to respond to sound waves. hearing loses are able to progress over the course of several years.
2.ear infections/illness
fluid might build up in the middle of the ear during an ear infection or illness such as measles, mumps and meningtis. although hearing loss from an ear infection is usually mild and temporary, they can lead to more serious long term problems if they are not treated.
3.perforated eardrum and trauma
your eardrum can be ruptured by ear infection, loud sounds, head trauma or intense pressure from flying in an airplane or scuba diving. this will leave a hole that might or might not heal. depending on the size of the hole, mild or moderate hearing loss can occur.
4.tumours
both cancerous and malignant tumours are able to cause severe hearing loss, including acoustic neuroma and meningioma. tumours patients might also experience numbness or weakness in the face or ringing in the ear.
5.medications
the drugs you consume are also able to cause permanent hearing loss, also some are temporary and hearing will return once you stop taking the medication. a few type of drugs which are hazardous to your hearing are the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics (streptomcyin, neomcyin, kanamycin, large quantities of aspirin, chemotherapy drugs (cisplatin, carboplatin), Vicodin (in large quantities), macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin). your doctor should advise youon the side effects whenever prescribing a medication but you could always ask to prepare yourself.
6.genetics
there are also certain genes identified by scientist that are able to make people more susceptible to severe hearing loss, especially age-related hearing loss. genetic hearing loss often begins with hearing loss diagnosed at birth.
well. hope this informations might help you guyss there!!!!!! :D
